In the arena of community-based organizations, NETWORK of Community Ministries, Inc. responds to human need by giving short-term assistance with the goal of helping individuals achieve self-sufficiency. Although over a 100 charities thrive in the North Dallas area, NETWORK is the only one entrenched in the lives of low income families and dedicated daily to resolving their unexpected hardships with food, medication, clothing, rent, utility assistance, counseling and prescriptions. A true frontline charity nestled in the backyard of the renown Telecom Corridor, NETWORK remains a frontrunner in quantities of food (over 500,000 lbs.) distributed annually to the needy and in total number served (over 35,000 annually in the last two years) for basic needs assistance in the Dallas County area.
85% of the annual budget for NETWORK supports programs that assist the hungry and the homeless, and NETWORK validates its long term success by how dynamically it seeks to meet these ongoing human demands for aid.
Across 14 zip codes where over 20, 000 children are on free or reduced lunch because of low household incomes, NETWORK has led the efforts to lessen the burden of individuals, families and seniors.
We are opening the window of opportunity through (1) streamlining the client intake process, (2) offering client choice in distributing food; providing job resource services, information and referrals, (3) giving the clients free clothing from the new clothes closet, and (4) maintaining partnerships with the public agencies and other charities to better serve our clients.
